I'm Hayley

Doula, Wife & Mother of 4 amazing daughters (two born at Kaleeya Hospital and two born at home) - from 5 to 18 years!

We live on a rural property with our extended family in Mount Barker, WA with our 2 cats, dog, horses, goats, chickens, sheep, cows and alpacas. We are constantly working towards being as self sufficient as we can through growing our own food/vegetables and fruit, and rehabilitating our old apple orchard. I love to cook and bake and usually have a loaf of sourdough on the go!

I have never had any fear around birth - I watched my Mum give birth to my brother when I was a teenager & from then on was always in absolute awe of the raw power of birth. This is where it all began!

I have a Bachelor of Science and have been attending births since 2008, though after years of clinical practice I decided that in order to truly be able to support families holistically and authentically, the best way forward was as a Doula

I certified as a Doula through the Doula Training Academy, which was a complete departure from the professional training I was encouraged to practice - I am unbelievably content having left the clinical world behind and now being focused on illuminating the power where it belongs, with you

I have also been a Birth Educator since 2011 after completing the Childbirth Educators course at the Royal Women's Hospital in Victoria. I have been a hospital-based birth educator and also offer independent birth classes in the comfort of your own home or via Zoom. The education I provide is a complete shift from what gets churned out in your regular run-of-the-mill hospital classes!

I love being able to fully focus on the wellbeing of families from pregnancy, during birth & as they navigate their parenting journey - filling in the gaps that are often left wide open in maternity care today. I have attended all manner of births and at the heart of it all is a drive to support you to become central to your birthing experience. You and your partner should feel completely supported by someone who you know and trust, so you can become the curator of your experience

I can assist in navigating the system I know so well & show you the tools to help you find your power, harness it and have the best birth & postpartum possible!
